Call for Art: RE New / Recycled Art Locavore Show

Submission deadline: Wednesday, April 8, 2026

Art drop-off times at 62A Summer Street:

  • Thursday, April 16th: 7-9 pm
  • Saturday, April 18th: 11 am -1 pm

Artists are invited to submit work for RE NEW: Recycled Art Show, an SOS Locavore exhibition celebrating transformation, sustainability, and creative reinvention. This show explores how discarded and repurposed materials can be reimagined into compelling sculptural forms and textures that speak to environmental awareness and artistic innovation. We are seeking works made from recycled materials, including reclaimed objects and recycled fabrics. 

Work Parameters: lightweight, translucent, large-scale suspended works, or wall-mounted pieces made from recycled textiles.

The show will be hosted by The KMW School of Painting, at 62A Summer Street, Somerville.
The gallery will be open through one month during weekends: April 25th to May 17th.

Participants will need to sign up for a short shift to monitor the gallery during the exhibit. The schedule of the show being open for visitors will be determined by everyone’s availability. Sign up form for gallery sitting

This is a closed call for artists that are registered for SOS 2026. Please note that this is a juried exhibition and not all submitted work will be accepted. 

Applicants’ work must be available from April 20-May 17. 2026.

Submissions: 

This year we are considering up to 2 submissions per artist.  

Please send us a JPEG of the pieces you would like to show (maximum 1200 pixels in length). The following information should accompany the image: 

  1. Artist name & Contact Info (phone & e-mail)
  2. Title of the piece
  3. Description of Medium
  4. Complete accurate dimensions (length, width, depth, 1’ x 3’ x 2’)
  5. Price, or NFS

Please submit completed applications to katyakatyapopova@gmail.com and include “Locavore: Sustainability and Recycling” in the message header. Submission deadline will be April 8, 2026, and we will let you know what we have chosen by April 15, 2026.
