Artist's Statement

Emily works in stained glass, mosaic, hot glass, and metal.  She also has fun upcycling whatever materials she can find into colorful collaborative artworks. Check out some of her recent work on instagram @studio_b63 and a more comprehensive portfolio at www.glassandlead.com. Do you work at a school or community organization that wants a meaningful team-building activity even during the pandemic? check out some examples of collaborative art and arts integration for all ages at www.connectionlab.org.  Have you thought about a stained glass window or a mosaic for your home? Mosaic walls, sculptures or benches can add color and texture to your space, making it both welcoming and restful. Or come take a look at mosaic pendants, the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Emily's work in glass began more than 20 years ago and she's been building windows, panels, backsplashes and other glass creations ever since. She's taught stained glass, flameworking, mosaic and glassblowing as well as mixed-technique classes for the last 15 years. She has built and restored windows for many private residences, and now works on commissions and teaches. She's also the Communtiy Art Director for the Beautiful Stuff Project, Somerville's very own creative reuse center (check it out!) Find Emily to discuss projects for your home or take home a beautiful piece of jewelry.
