Colorful, wearable creations

Artist's Statement
My creations are rooted in the "more is more" philosophy of my childhood in New Orleans. Raised on a diet of maximalism and celebration, I learned that costumes aren't masks, they're you, as loud as you can be. I create costumes and wearable art because I’m interested in the moment someone stops worrying about what people think and starts enjoying the power of being seen. It’s rooted in the nostalgia of being a kid, putting on layers of clashing patterns, and strutting around truly joyful, unapologetically visible, before the world tells you to tone it down. I enjoy working with reclaimed materials because I love the transformation of something that was destined for a landfill into art.
