Artist's Statement

The oil paintings are based on panels laid out with beach/found objects: both paintings and panels have an abstract reach but are founded on personal experience and mood. The panels' square or rectangular shapes  on the canvases may be a nod to traditional windows or to similarly shaped art hanging on walls. Their floating in space may be imspired by the strong influence of both a northern and southern island.
