Artist's Statement

I am a psychology researcher and painter who is (1) inspired by the control, precision, and exactness of the Italian and Flemish Renaissance; and (2) inspired by the chaos, free-form, and fluidity of abstract movements. My pieces are (1) realistic oil portraits painted in the style of the "Old Masters" and (2) fluid acrylic pieces in which I have some control over the process, while the rest is left entirely to the whims of the paint drying and settling on its own in due time.
