Artist's Statement

Kierstin Torres is Somerville-based watercolor artist, who paints outside of her work as a PhD candidate in physics. Her art intertwines figurative drawing with natural and fantastical imagery, aiming to evoke the ethereal quality of daydreams. Inspired by gothic themes, magical realism, and music, she creates emotive narratives where melancholy, beauty, and curiosity quietly coexist.
