Artist's Statement

I'm a one human operation who focuses on "sweet and spooky" imagery.  I enjoy finding the poisonous or otherwise ignored plants, and illustrating them with a twist. The "Skully of the Valley" is a personal favorite, though I recently created a ghostly Belladonna that I hope people will find pleasing as well. I favor bats, rats, and other critters that are sometimes a nuisance, though cats hold a special place in my heart. I like to find some spooky critters and make them a little bit cuter when I draw them, as a way to make them more endearing. I'm a little bit of a bleeding heart when I comes to any animal.

While my illustrations are more graphic in appearance, I rely heavily on references to get an accurate portrayal of plants, animals, and the human body, though I really take it down to the bones with that. The graphic nature then lends itself to creating block prints and silkscreens so that I can transfer my designs to wearables.

Classic favorite inspiration includes Alice in Wonderland and the Bell Jar, but also Chappell Roan, it's a mixed bag here. Expect fun and funky!
