Artist's Statement

My work is generally narrative, focusing on current issues of concern: the environment, global warming, homelessness, book banning, poverty, urban blight politics and feminism. I'm inspired by high and low visual sources: abstraction, figuration and pop culture such as fashion and cartoons. I have had two recent exhibitions involving portraiture: one at Gallery Kayafas and one at The Boston Public Library in Copley Square.
