Artist's Statement

Photography is an opportunity for me to pause, reflect, and appreciate the natural world around us. Whether it’s the fleeting seconds of light splashed against a mountain or the stillness of a forest under a blanket of snow, I look for those moments that spark wonder, awe, and imagination during my time outdoors. 

I am privileged that my photography has taken me to six of the seven continents, from the windy spires of Patagonia to the frozen glaciers of Iceland. Capturing the first rays of sunlight on a dissipating storm or watching a tidal pool community come to life has opened a deeper appreciation for the beauty of this Earth and the effects of climate change on it. 

My goal for my photography is to transport you - the viewer - to that special moment in time that caught my eye. I utilize all the tools at my disposal - from in-field compositional techniques to printing on selected photo paper textures - to accurately capture both what I saw and felt. Despite our increasingly fast-paced society, I relish taking my time in setting up my tripod, adjusting any necessary filters, dialing in the camera settings, and waiting for the perfect exposure. I am intentional with every shutter press and authentic in how I present my images. What you see in my images represents the real expanse in front of you as if you were in my shoes. 

I hope that my photos inspire you to marvel the wilderness around us and to take a moment to pause, wonder, and dream.
