Artist's Statement
Anne Beinecke’s billowing pulses of color and fierce mark making flow from an automatic process and are developed through a marriage of spontaneity, deliberation and imagination. Her forms emerge, take shape and float together on a page as if in communion. There, they inhabit an unrestricted world that often straddles the abstract and representational.
Anne studied painting and photography at CUNY Hunter College and Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she received her BFA. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Boston area and beyond. She has been a recipient of the 2020 Cambridge Art Association Artist of the Year Award and the 2017 Cambridge Art Association Emerging Artist Award. Her work is held in private collections in the US and abroad. Anne is also an animal and environmental activist. She currently lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband and cat.
