Artist's Statement

I got into glass on a whim, as someone that has always been fascinated by watching glass blowers and had wanted to take a class of some sort. I finally did so on Valentine's Day of 2021, making my first paper weight shaped like a heart. I took a class on the torch for the first time on March 19th 2021. After that class, I was well and truly hooked on glass making. I have worked both at the furnace and the torch, however, I find myself  enjoying working on the torch the most. I still consider myself new to glass, am always learning something new, and adding more skills to my repertoire. My inspiration comes from a healthy dose of scientific curiosity, as in I tend to ask myself the question "what would happen if..." and then do whatever it is that I'm thinking. I'm limited by my skills at the moment, but I look forward to the future when I can experiment even more.
