Artist's Statement

As an artist, I am deeply inspired by the power of images to convey meaning and emotion. Born in Kinshasa and raised in Somerville, with significant time spent in New York City, my experiences have shaped my perspective on the world. My work exists at the intersection of chance and intention, reflecting the delicate balance between fortuna and self-determination.

Whether through carefully composed scenes or spontaneous, candid moments on film or polaroid, through my lens, I seek to reveal the underlying narratives that shape our world, delving into themes of identity, society, and the being's existence. Each image tells a story, inviting viewers to interpret and engage with the narrative.

While I have a keen interest in politics, particularly its theoretical underpinnings, my focus lies more on its conceptual aspects rather than its practical manifestations.Through my creations, I aim to provoke thought, spark dialogue, and offer viewers a glimpse into the complexity and beauty of the world as I see it. Each piece is a reflection of my ongoing journey of exploration and discovery, inviting others to join me in exploring the intricacies of life, society, and the human condition. Ah la vie est belle, isn't it?
