Artist's Statement

Project 1,000 Fears was initiated in 2022, with the objective to start a conversation about fear. It encourages people to look at how fear contributes to unnecessary and painful conflict: internal, interpersonal and political. I have asked 1,000 people around the world what their biggest fear is. I talked to 477 people on the streets of Boston; most of the personal interviews were carried out in Somerville. The result is the digital installation The Wall of Fears and the production Let’s Talk About Fear, which I put on at the Comedy Studio on January 26th this year; a sold-out show. I invite you to sit down in front of The Wall of Fears and reflect around this theme which connects us all. As you watch, the biggest fears of your fellow humans will pass by: one by one. The only identifying marker is age. The exhibit also features video clips from the Let's Talk About Fear production. You will have an opportunity to share your biggest fear, anonymously or in person. This is a chance to connect, reflect, and grow.
