Artist's Statement

I am a painter, illustrator, and educator living and working in Boston, Massachusetts. Primarily working in acrylics, oils, or digital media, my work is inspired by daily observations, our perception of the world around us (real or imagined), the relationships between humans and the natural world, New England folk art, Northern Renaissance Art, and absurdism. As an illustator I have experience in ediotiral, book cover, advertisment, animation, and package design illustration. In addition to working as an artist, I teach in Massachusetts College of Art and Design's illustration department.
