Artist's Statement

Katherine Megumi Shozawa is a socially engaged artist and educator whose community practice ranges from neon signs in Cambridge's Harvard Square to public weaving in Vancouver, Canada. While the work is diverse in scope, her projects are linked by a common focus on underrepresented communities and histories including her own, and the visual and cultural vitality of inclusive relationships in public space.
