Artist's Statement

El Baúl, which means chest or trunk in Spanish, is a combination of my heritage and love for handmade crafts that my abuela taught me growing up. I combine vintage fabrics and handkerchiefs with naturally dyed cloth to create one-of-a-kind quilted pieces people will love and cherish for years to come. My goods are much like what you would find in a secret trunk stored in your grandmother's attic – a surprise – you never know what you’ll find in el baúl.
