Shawn Baker is a multi-media artist, designer and art educator focused on fostering creative and critical thinking skills through the arts. Shawn earned a BFA from Alfred University School of Art and Design (NYSCC) in 2011 and has continued to develop his practice over the years. Shawn has a wide range of experience in a variety of studio art disciplines and is inspired by all of the types of learning that stem from creative practice. He is interested in making curious, functional and resourceful multi-media art work. His work has ranged from ceramics/pottery, to textiles/fiber, hot glass, puppetry, painting and sculpture, and still evolving. Currently focused on working with natural reclaimed materials to create sculptural work as well as painting inspired by nature and politics. Recent interactive sculptural works include a mobile strawberry garden cart, and a custom bicycle trailer pop-up cafe, known as Bar dei Belli which can be found popping-up in and around the Boston area, serving high quality espresso in hand made ceramic cups.
