Artist's Statement

Gregory P. Schneider (b.1993) includes a unique variety of ink on paper and acrylic on canvas pieces to build an array of work from small scale intimate artworks to large scale impactful artworks. His practice is all inclusive with elements of ink, drawing, painting, and poetry. Thematically, Gregory approaches topics surrounding the human condition: difficulties of mental health, trauma, and the lasting impact we have on one another. Gregory's practice draws inspiration from Tenebrism, Expressionism, Street, and Surrealist movements. The strong usage of contrast and dark imagery aims to leave viewers emotionally raw and contemplative, all with the hope of gaining resolution and resolve for the future.
