Artist's Statement

My pottery journey began 8 years ago with classes at Somerville's beloved (former) pottery studio Mudville.  During the last year I've explored different methods of decorating my work.  I draw inspiration from folk art and mid-century illustrations to "paint" whimsical scenes with glaze.  My most recent obsession is playing around with texture and carving techniques.  I hope my pieces inspire everyday use by their owners.
