Artist's Statement

I am an artist and and home herbalist living in Somerville, MA. I have made many kinds of art over the years, including painting, photography, graphic design, and video art, but I over the past two years I have mostly been exploring the art of rug tufting. Most recently I have been experimenting with making tufted ottomans using fabric scraps as stuffing, allowing my rugs to take on a 3D form and to reduce studio waste. I am inspired by organic shapes found in nature as well as stained glass and tile patterns. I like to walk around Somerville and Cambridge neighborhoods for inspiration.
