Artist's Statement
Parrish Dobson has photographed in New England and Europe for over thirty years. Her expertly printed color and black and white prints convey a deep respect for the quiet and the essential mystery of the land. Recent projects include a series entitled "In Between" (seascapes from the Gulf of Maine),"Flying By" shot from a moving Amtrak train with an IPhone camera, and "The Touch of a Distant Hand", a still life series of well used kitchen objects and tools. This year she will be featuring photographs from the interior of the home of children's book illustrator and artist, Ashley Bryan, who passed away this year at the age of 98. She has taught Photography at Les Tapies in France, at Star Island, and at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA. Her work is in many homes and collections around New England.
