Artist's Statement
Parrish Dobson is a fine art photographer working primarily in landscape, still life, and interiors in New England and Europe . Her expertly printed color and black and white prints convey a deep respect for quiet and the essential mystery. On view is a new series of large cyanotypes made with kelp gathered from Penobscot Bay in Maine. Other projects include a series entitled "In Between" (seascapes from the Gulf of Maine), "Fragments and Tintypes", "The Touch of a Distant Hand" - a still life series of well used kitchen objects, "Ashley's House"- photographs from the interior of the home of children's book illustrator and artist, Ashley Bryan. She has taught Photography at Les Tapies in France, at Star Island, and at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA. She is represented by New Era Gallery on Vinalhaven Island in Maine. Her work has been in many gallery shows and collections.
