Artist's Statement

My hand-built stoneware pieces are made for daily use. Cups, mugs, rice bowls, tea bowls, pitchers, side plates for your favorite sweet....  I roll and wrap slabs, then use a combination of brushed and incised surface decoration.  From the earth to our homes, mud informs daily rituals.  Whether eating, drinking, pouring or placing a special object in a little dish, clay calls on us to honor its changing form and presence in our lives.
