Artist's Statement

Morgane Mathews is a Somerville-based photographer who captures the essence of place through vibrant colors, crisp edges, and strong lines. An active member of the Boston Camera Club, she has exhibited at the Griffin Museum, PhotoPlace Gallery, Plymouth Center for the Arts, and Praxis Gallery.
Working across landscapes, cityscapes, architectural abstracts, and organic forms, Morgane focuses on the patterns and geometry that define a space. Her work spans locations from the American Southwest to Iceland, Japan, and New England, transforming familiar and distant scenes into studies of shape, texture, and light. Whether photographing geological formations, urban architecture, or natural landscapes, she seeks to reveal the visual rhythms that make each place distinctive.
