City, nature, architecture
Morgane Mathews is a Somerville-based photographer born in Mexico City and raised in Paris and Montreal. An active member of the Boston Camera Club, she has shown her work in group exhibits at Gallery 4, the Griffin Museum, the Plymouth Center for the Arts, and the Praxis Gallery.
Photographing places is Morgane’s first love. Her photography is driven by a desire to share her appreciation for color, pattern, and shape with others. When she’s behind the lens, she tries to capture the feeling of the place, focusing on shapes, texture, and space. Morgane edits her images to bring out her unique vision through vibrant colors, crisp edges, and strong lines. Her artwork spans landscapes, cityscapes, architectural abstracts, and organic shapes found in nature.
When not behind the lens, she enjoys sharing her culture by giving private French and Spanish classes.
