Artist's Statement

SAFE n' STYLIN

Safe n' Stylin' offers Hi-Vis SafeWear workshops and beautiful desigs to make anyone in the streets visible both day and night. Whether you're walking, riding a bike or scooter, or pushing a baby stroller or walker, or motorized chair, you need to BE SEEN to BE SAFE!

Sign up for our Saturday workshops to make reflective and fluorescent wearables and add Hi-Vis stickers and lights to your bike, scooter, baby stroller, motorized chair or walker!

From  Lenni:

Designing with reflective and fluorescent material sparks my imagination and creativity. It requires a balance of form and function and I thoroughly enjoy this design process!

I work with these materials because they glow without the need for batteries. The reflective designs glow at night in the car headlights, and during the day don't draw attention. And fluorescent design shows up brightly during the day. On the bike paths at night, there are no car headlights, so whether you're walking or riding a bike or scooter, you won't be seen unless you have a light on the front of you and a light on your back.

See the video of my reflective and fluorescent designs in the Beyond the Pattern Fashion Show 2018! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb8Gpadu5ro)

I also do 2D and 3D Scientific Visualization: inform-motion.com
