Artist's Statement

Adrianne Mathiowetz is a Boston-based portrait and documentary photographer. She was the Photo Director for hyper-local news magazines Scout Somerville and Scout Cambridge (now defunct). She is a photo graduate of The Salt Institute of Documentary Studies, and her work has appeared in The New York Times, Wired, Bust, The Guardian, Vice, The Boston Globe, Fast Company, Forbes, the Star Tribune, on Buzzfeed, and has been exhibited at the Inside Out Gallery, the Mpls Photo Center and The Soap Factory, amongst others. Her extensive portrait work with authors is discussed in the February 2021 issue of The Believer. In 2017 she was voted one of the top 5 portrait photographers in WGBH’s Boston A-List.
