Artist's Statement
I am a psychotherapist and musician, who took up painting with passion and a vengeance in 2010. My mother, Cecily Gill, was a painter. My wife, the printmaker and painter, Jane Goldman, suggested I switch from acrylics to watercolor in 2012. I make large watercolor and gouache action paintings, which I consider to be a kind of visual music. They are rhythm oriented and are an attempt to recreate natural patterns of nature and human psychology. I use cups, bowls and a paint brush to deliver the paint to the paper rolls I use, but rarely touch the brush to the paper.
