By day I am a 6th-Grade Science teacher. In 2013, feedback about the photographic images I recorded on a trip to Tanzania prompted me to begin scratching in earnest what had always been a big itch of mine: taking pictures to document the people and places that I love. A total amateur, I signed up for workshops at NESOP and discovered how much there is to learn about taking a decent photograph! It's been a blast exploring the urban landscape in search of fleeting, fortuitous unexpected moments to capture as well as spending ten minutes attempting to perfect the shot of an everyday object from my kitchen using my tripod and techniques from macro photography. While not prepared to give up my day job, I am proud to say I have been a juried member of the Cambridge Art Association since the spring of 2015. In addition, my work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows in and around Boston and has also been commissioned by several private collectors, as well as the owner of ZONE-Designs in Brookline, MA.
