Artist's Statement

Without much formal art academic background, Nelson has had the opportunity of taking stained glass classes with artists such as Daniel Maher, www.dmstainedglass.com , John Santacroce, www.whittemoredurgin.com and Michel L'Huillier www.ccae.org. 

Originally from El Salvador, Nelson primarily working experience has been working with the immigrant low-income community in Somerville.   After personal tragedy, Nelson changed his vocation, finding a creative outlet to continue helping his community.  In December 2021 he decided to dedicate his time just to stained glass.  Nelson's involvement in the community overlaps with stained glass work.  For the past three years, he has been donating some of his art sales to local non-profits.
