Artist's Statement

Hilary Scott creates large and small sculptures in his studio behind the Somerville, Massachusetts home he shares with his wife. Designer of the City of Somerville's 9/11 and Iwo Jima Memorials, he works in a variety of materials; his guiding principle being to banish the mundane, delight his wife and amuse his children and his clients.

As principle photographer for the Boston Symphony and Boston Philharmonic Orchestras, Hilary’s evenings often find him at Symphony Hall in Boston, and every summer he moves to his studio in the Berkshires to serve as the official photographer for Tanglewood, the symphony’s summer home.
