This year I will be featuring monoprints and monotypes from a residency in Venice, Italy and a new series called Tracking Changes.
Working in an improvisational
way at the interface between printmaking and painting, Catherine uses multiple wood- blocks in unorthodox ways as a transfer tool to build images in
a painterly process of controlled accident toward an unknown destination. With eyes wide open and senses tuned to the interaction of inks, she uses the blocks to lay down as well as lift ink, and large rollers to build viscosity layers
of transparent color.
