Artist's Statement:

My images promote an appreciation of the profound beauty of the world and underscore the critical message that we must protect our planet from thoughtless destruction – especially the current climate change crisis. Recently my photography has more directly connected to climate change activism. Some of images were used in support of the “Sustaining All Life” effort at the 2018 Climate Change Conference in San Francisco and I led a team of photographers at last year’s UN Climate Summit in NYC. I’m excited to finding ways of using my art to support environmental justice.

[Of course, it was disappointing to not be able to have SOS 2020. I hope that you will have a chance to visit my website - www.staneichner.smugmug.com,  so you can my new work, plus about 500 other images.]

2020 will be my 9th year participating in Open Studios, the third showing out of my home studio in East Somerville. This year I’m featuring images from my recent photo trip to Scotland.  I hope that you’ll have a chance to come by my house, 32 Pearl Street. I’m open Friday night, 6- 9, and from noon to 6 on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to framed photos, there will be a large selection of photo cards as well as some framed photos from past years at discounted prices.
