Artist Statement

In the Brickbottom Gallery, with extended hours during Somerville Open Studios, Saturday and Sunday, May 5 & 6. GIMME SHELTER. This is a Brickbottom Artist Association Members' Exhibition, celebrating Brickbottom's 30th Anniversary. This theme connects to home, family, community and stability. Some of the art deals with current political and social issues such as homelessness, immigration, or the refugee crisis. This exhibition includes painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, mixed media. The show runs from April 26 to May 26. Opening Reception: Sunday, April 29, 4-6pm. Gallery hours: Thursday-Saturday, 12-5.
While visiting Brickbottom, check out "for the birds" a new exhibition in the Bakery Lobby. Over 25 residents are showing over 100 pieces in all media, exploring the subject of birds, their nests and eggs, not to mention a few Easter Eggs scrambled in the mix!
