Artist Statement

My art combines images from places visited and imagined. I often create triptychs that represent mind, body, and spirit. I align these thoughts with color, shape, and form and I work freely and expressively. I apply colors using transparent vitreous glass overlays over opaque grounds and build my surface from successive applications of vitreous glass particles with multiple kiln firings for each piece. My current studio is part of a large maker space at the Artisanís Asylum in Somerville, MA where i also teach workshops in enameling and watercolor.
I have degrees from Skidmore College and MFA from Boston University and retired from a long career teaching visual arts in the Somerville Public Schools.
