In my work I try to capture a moment - a feeling, a movement, an impression, whether that is a moment of joy or sadness, standing on a mountaintop looking out over the world, the shifting view as one crosses over or beneath a bridge.
The pictures here are recent work. I've been working with pastels, working rough with a lot of erasure to create texture. I work on the floor to get the support I need to work. I've been saturating the paper heavily, adding and removing layers. I've been using a lot of green lately - who knows why - lots of figures, some portraits, the ubiquitous back.
Prints are mostly monotypes - architectural and natural abstractions - cityscapes, sea creatures, floral explosions. |
