Sex and intimacy— How our culture neuroticizes them makes it almost impossible to see what might be so. These huge and highly detailed drawings of men’s balls, done from combined live sittings and photographs, begin to open a different landscape. They are confrontive, sumptuous, ugly and beautiful. Large scale celebrates, begins to dissolve the perception of balls as objects, as well as our assumptions about them. Black and white releases us into space, mood, breath, structure… even time. Perhaps time enough to just be, and certainly to laugh.
