Some of the inspiration for my painting comes from a fascination with the history of old & worn surfaces in the urban environment. Weather & corrosion on surfaces of varying hues;peeling paint & wallpaper, ripped wall posters, cracked concrete, melted tar, patched & graffitied walls; all these elements of the urban/industrial landscape may later be reflected in a very different context as the painting evolves through intent & chance.
