My art process is driven by a desire to uncover the glowing inner life that is innate in all things. I am drawn to themes that directly or indirectly deal with a nervous awareness of the physical and the emotional. I feel that my work is successful when I can detect a pulse in it. I allow my work to drift freely between loose, or deliberately underdeveloped renderings, to tightly detailed representations. I enjoy the freedom to explore a range of different approaches toward my art and find that it is essential in order to experience a true sense of mobility in my artistic exploration. |
