My name is Arielle Maldonado. I was born and raised on the north side of Chicago in the Logan Square neighborhood. I came to the Medford/Somerville area when I decided to attend school at Tufts University. I am double majoring in Economics and Chinese and minoring in Entrepreneurial Leadership. With a heavy workload at school it is nice to find time to relax and paint. It definitely relieves a lot of stress and you can create whatever you want. I am so happy I found the painting school in Somerville where I have a great teacher. Katherine Martin Widmer has taught me many useful techniques in painting and is a great friend and wonderful person. The first painting I completed at the school is titled Puerto Rican Paradise. I am very proud of my Puerto Rican background and wanted to create something that showed this. I chose to paint a scene of Puerto Rico along the beach with El Morro, the Puerto Rican flag, and the Red Hibiscus, Puerto Rico's state flower. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and I intend on uploading images of my new paintings when they are complete. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my artist profile and paintings.
