Join SOS at SomerStreets!

Somerville Open Studios would like to invite 15 artists to join us in street painting at SomerStreets this summer. Artists will be invited to paint a 4x6 square to fit the theme for that particular event. On Sunday, September 18, the theme will be "Strike up the Bands".

We are also seeking 4 artists to help patrons of SomerStreets in creating a street mural together.

Somerville Open Studios will provide chalk pastels. SomerStreets "Strike Up the Bands" runs from 2pm-6pm with setup to begin at noon.

Spaces are limited. If you are interested in painting a square, please respond to Ellie Laramee-Byers at coordinator@somervilleopenstudios.org

2017 Coordinator and Board Farewells

The board of directors of Somerville Open Studios is pleased to welcome back Ellie Laramee-Byers as the coordinator for the next annual event, to be held on May 6 and 7, 2017. Ellie was the coordinator for SOS 2015 and is excited to be back. She and SOS have great things in store so expect to hear more soon.

At the same time, we're wishing a fond farewell and thank you to two departing board members. Over the years, Suzanne Lubeck has served as Vice President, President, and head of sponsorship, developing mutual support and enthusiasm between local businesses and SOS. Nick Shectman has served as Treasurer and headed up trolleys, and was coordinator for SOS 2008 and 2009. Suzanne and Nick aren't going far -- they'll both be volunteering, and exhibiting, at SOS 2017.
